Family Friday: Next Friday Feb 16 is another Family Friday.  This half-day of school begins the long weekend, with no school on Monday Feb 19th.  (Family Friday details: LINK) 

————-  ELEMENTARY ————

Logos South Assembly:  Mrs. Gartrell’s class will perform a play based on Arnold Lobel’s classic, Frog and Toad are Friends.  The play will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Logos South. We will reserve the small parking area in front of the school (the normal teacher lot) for anyone especially blessed by this convenient spot.

Logos South Spelling Bee Showdown: This Friday, February 9th, the top six second-grade finishers from Monday’s classroom spelling bee will compete on the stage at Logos South.  The showdown will begin at 10:30 am.  

Logos West Spelling Bee Showdown: This Thursday, February 8th, the top 22 finishers from Monday’s classroom spelling bees will compete on the stage at Logos West.  The showdown will begin at 1:00 pm.

Preschool-1st Grade Midterms: Your preschool-1st grade students were sent home with a midterm today. This midterm is an opportunity for you to see your child’s progress and recognize any areas they may need extra help.  Thank you for taking the time to complete these helpful assessments, please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions.  

2nd – 6th Grade Midterms: A blank midterm form will come home this week. Please log on to FACTS and help your child complete it. Our goal is to encourage families to check out FACTS and to help students use the midterm to plan for improvement in any areas that may need work. Please return these forms by next Wednesday, February 14.

————-  SECONDARY ————

Valentine’s Day:  The secondary school does not officially recognize Valentine’s Day.  However, classes sometimes celebrate with all the guys in the class buying a treat for all the girls, and the girls doing something for the guys, with the intent of not singling out individual students.  Students are encouraged to bring their ideas to Mr. Wiggins before spending money or time on an idea.

Secondary Worldview Assembly: Our next worldview assembly will be on Friday, February 16th, in the Logos Fieldhouse.  Dr. Ben Merkle will address the student body on Cultural Marxism.  We encourage parents to attend this assembly and then spend the afternoon with their student(s) on this Family Friday.  

Dialectic Speech Meet:  Please mark your calendars for the Dialectic Speech Meet assembly on Friday, February 23, 12:40-1:30 pm.  A few of the 7th- 9th-grade students who demonstrated excellence during the speech meet will have the opportunity to present before the student body.  Parents are encouraged to attend.
