2019 Summary

It may have been the best Benefit Auction in Logos School history! Saturday night, January 19, three hundred friends of the school filled the SEL Event Center for the circus-themed “Under the Big Top” event. People didn’t attend for the delicious dinner and the entertainment only. They came ready to invest their hard-earned dollars in students of Logos. By the time the festivities ended, the event raised more than $118,000 for the school, surpassing last year’s gross by $20,000! Following is a breakdown of the evening’s proceeds:

Silent Auction Items: $16,552

Live Auction (17 Featured Items): $31,800

Fund-A-Need: $30,500

Dessert Dash: $8,678

Corporate/Individual Sponsorships: $30,500

Thresh Catering, owned & operated by Katie (Gray ’01) Grauke, did a wonderful job with the food. Logos student Rudy Christianson & University of Idaho student Liam Marchant filled the ballroom with music (piano & saxophone) as vintage black & white circus footage rolled silently on the big screens. Bel Merkle did an incredible job incorporating our circus theme in everything from table décor to staging and florals throughout the event center. Our entertainer for the evening – the Junk Drawer Troubadour from Spokane – juggled knives, hoops, and bowling pins (occasionally while atop a unicycle) to the delight of the crowd. And, of course, guests had the opportunity to fellowship, bid, and enjoy the “Big Top” photo booth throughout the evening.

The 17 spectacular items/packages up for bid in the LIVE Auction drew enthusiastic bidding, keeping our “spotters” on their toes. A Wine Tasting for Eight with Francis Foucachon with a  light supper prepared by Thresh Catering brought $5,000.  A Five-Day Stay on a Coeur d’Alene Lake Home raised $6,000. The Super Bowl Party for Forty at Tapped generated $2,100 for the school. And the Bowling with Mr. Becker package (Mr. Becker is a Logos 6th Grade Teacher) brought $550. These are just some of the highlights during the LIVE auction.

This year’s Fund-A-Need proceeds will go toward the purchase of goal posts, a score board, and several sections of portable bleachers for our newly sodded competition field on the new campus! The school will also be adding a track & lights to the field in 2019.

Our first-ever “Dessert Dash” was a smashing success and raised $8,640 for the school. A big “thank you” to Sandy Spencer for organizing it and all those who baked the lovely creations on display Saturday night!

Logos is truly grateful to all the local businesses and individuals who supported the 2019 Logos Benefit Auction, especially Dr. Ben Bowen of Moscow Family Dentistry (Presenting Sponsor) and the many others who purchased table sponsorships and donated goods and services.
