See me or John Carnahan for details. Finals Schedule: I have attached the secondary finals schedule. Please note that the secondary awards ceremony will take place Thursday, May 26 at 2:30 PM. Mr. Garfield will be giving his final address as the superintendent at this time. Both elementary and secondary parents are welcome to attend.   Double 7th Grades: 2016-17 will be the first year that we offer double classes in 7th grade. We are excited about the caliber of students in this group and are looking forward to having them in the secondary. Here are few notes as we prepare for next year:   Unity: The 7th graders are all part of the same class but they will be in different rooms throughout the day. We will insure that there is a healthy mix of interaction between students so that they have regular contact with each other. At the end of the day all of the girls will have Mrs. Spencer and the boys will have Mr. Whitling for PE.   Honors Latin: Due to the wide range of abilities, interests, and backgrounds of our students, we will be offering two different Latin classes in 7th grade. Latin 7 will cover the traditional Lingua Latina material that we have offered in the past. Honors Latin 7 will start in the same place but will move more quickly through the material. Students who earned a 90% or higher in the 4th quarter of 6th grade Latin will automatically be placed in the honors class (please contact me if you would prefer not to have your child in honors). If your child came in just under 90% and you would like to pursue the option of “testing in” to honors, please contact me for details.   Cheers,   Matt Whitling

Last summer Brent and Sandy Belschner graciously agreed to board me in their home along with three other NSA students. I have enjoyed staying with the Belschners very much.  Unfortunately, none of my roommates are returning next year.  Therefore, although the Belschners have agreed to let me board with them, I prefer to have male roommates since the remaining children at the Belschner home are daughters.  I enjoy playing the piano and singing as well as playing basketball and running track.  I would like to live with a family that has Logos highschool sons or that boards male NSA students.  If you are interested please contact me at davidtreece4@gmail.com or my mother, Corina Treece, at ctreece37@gmail.com.  The Belschners are willing to be a reference for me as well, if you would like to ask them questions at belscher9@gmail.com .     Cheers,   Matt Whitling

As an18-year-old boarding student, I am completing the 10th grade program at Logos because that was the only class that had an opening. I hope to return to Logos for one more year of study. Since I will be 19 by next May, my parents will graduate me as a homeschool student back in Texas. My father had pastored three different churches in the Dallas, TX area for 27 years before having retired from pastoring 15 months ago. My father now devotes his time to running his business, which he started ten years ago in order to have the financial resources to Christian education his children, even through college. There are 8 children in our family of which I am the 4th child, with 1 older brother, 2 older sisters (all three married), and 4 younger sisters. My older two siblings are students at NSA. My brother finished his bachelor’s degree last year from NSA and has continued on this year with the master’s degree program. My sister will be graduating from NSA in May with her bachelor’s. Both siblings and their spouses are members of Trinity Reformed Church. Last summer Brent and Sandy Belschner graciously agreed to let me board in their home along with three other NSA students who were already contracted with them. I have enjoyed staying with the Belschners very much. Unfortunately, none of the other boarders are returning next year. The Belschners have agreed to board me anyway, but I would actually prefer to have some male roommates since the remaining children at the Belschner home are daughters. They understand that I am looking for other possible options for next year. I enjoy playing the piano and singing as well as playing basketball and running track. If there is any family who either has teenager sons at Logos or who are boarding male NSA students and would consider adding me as a boarder next year, please contact me at davidtreece4@gmail.com.   The Belschners are willing to be a reference for me as well if you would like to ask them questions at belscher@gmail.com .   Boarding Opportunity #2:   The following student has been accepted to Logos and is looking for a boarding situation for 2016-17. A typical range for boarding a high school student is $7,000-$10,000 for 9 months. If you would like more information please contact me.   A Brief Introduction of Chenglin Yu I am Chenglin Yu. My English name is Daniel. I am a 15-year-old boy from Kunming, China. I plan to study at Logos School, Moscow, ID for four years starting this fall. My father is a Chief Justice of People’s Court of our district. My mother is a medical doctor at one of the largest hospitals in our city. I like playing basketball, swimming, riding bike, and watching movies. I have good health and am not allergic to any food so far. I hope to find a homestay family, which is open-minded and friendly. If you are interested please contact me at: mwu@advantage.education   Cheers,   Matt Whitling

LOGOS SCHOOL UPDATE – 2016 – #26   General

Fight’n Knight Day: This Friday is a Fight’n Knight Day to celebrate the Mock Trial teams making it to state! Wear your Logos t-shirt and nice jeans to school (or the regular school uniform).

Logos Summer Camps/Classes: Enrollment is open and the brochure can be found here.   Easter/Spring Break: Just a reminder that Easter/Spring Break will last two weeks and a day, March 14-28. Have a wonderful time celebrating with your family!   NBC Basketball Camps: A few families have asked about summer camps for their kids. NBC is a fine Christian organization that has been running camps for years, and I highly recommend them. For more information see https://www.nbccamps.com/basketball/camps/whitworth-university1/   Elementary 5th Grade Play: This Friday Miss Church and Mr. Erber’s 5th graders will be performing the play Baukis and Philemon. The show will open with a recitation from Mrs. Bradley’s 4th grade at 8:35. All are welcome! Parent/Teacher Conferences (March 31 & April 1): We are looking forward to meeting with you.   Secondary Secondary Student Surveys: This week our secondary students are filling out student surveys for each of their classes. Please take a few minutes and talk this through with your children so that they are prepared.     Cheers,   Matt Whitling
