Grandparents’ Day: We have a super day planned for grandparents, parents, family, friends, and prospective families Friday, May 6th. The morning will open with a continental breakfast for grandparents in the auditorium followed by class plays and presentations throughout the morning and early afternoon. Even if you don’t have grandparents in town we would love to have you come to your children’s presentations and then join us for the Open House at 11:30 AM. Most parents and grandparents take their students out for an extended lunch (11:45-1:15). We are looking forward to a great day!

Knights’ Fest: Here is a summary of the week:

Tuesday, April 26th – We will kick off the festivities from 6:30-8:30pm with music, cotton candy, archery, chess and banners.  Even if students are not signed up for archery, chess, or banners, they are welcome to come.

Wednesday, April 27th – Appropriate dress for the first day of the festival is comfortable clothes that are neat, clean, and modest.  In the morning we will watch the seniors debate the staff on the subject of capitalism followed by workshops, competitions, a concert by Eric E. and more workshops.

Thursday, April 28th – Speeches for Associated Student Body positions will begin the morning followed by basketball and volleyball tournaments in the gym.  During lunch the classes will compete in different rounds of Bubble Ball.  Please note that permission slips with parent signatures are required to participate.  We’ll finish the day with pizza for the winning team of the class competitions, sword fighting, and the melee.

Friday, April 29 – The students should come to school in costume either as a character from the literature book that their class has chosen, or as a lord or lady.  If the student does not come in costume, they should come in semi-formal attire (a tie for the gentlemen and skirt or dress for the ladies).  Please note, if a student bakes a dessert for the competition, he/she must check it in at the gym in the morning, see the baking guidelines for details.  The juniors will help set up for the feast from 8:45 – 10:00am in the gym.  Students not participating in the baking competition, or helping set up for the feast, need to be at school by 10:15am.  If your student would like to come earlier, a movie will be shown in Room 2 that morning.  At 10:15 a speaker will talk to the students on “Thankfulness.”  The rest of the day will be spent feasting while enjoying entertainment provided by the students.  At the end of the meal, the class that wins the entertainment competition and the winners of the baking, art, volleyball, basketball, archery, and sword fighting competitions will be announced.
