LOGOS SCHOOL UPDATE – 2016 – #28

LOGOS SCHOOL UPDATE – 2016 – #28

General

Logos Summer Camps/Classes: Enrollment is open and the brochure can be found here.

Uniforms: Just a few reminders for the spring: Now that the weather is nice, elementary students are welcome to wear shorts to school. Please save sandals for non-school activities.

Teaching Positions: We are currently accepting applications for the following teaching positions for the 2016-17 school year:

Elementary Latin (3rd-6th Grade), Old Testament Survey (7th Grade), Latin (7th Grade), Ancient History (7th Grade), English (7th Grade), Algebra I (8th Grade), and Algebra II (10th Grade).

We are looking for gifted teachers who are passionate about classical and Christian education. If you are interested, please submit a resume to me via email.

Elementary

4th Grade Play: This Friday Miss Cleman’s class will be on stage. The show will open at 8:35 AM with a recitation by Mr. Becker’s 6th graders. All are welcome.

Grandparents’ Day Projects: Many elementary classes are working on special projects to display on Grandparents’ Day (May 6). Please be encouraged to allow your student to do the majority of the work on the diorama, castle, trebuchet, state float, etc. Grandparents’ Day should be impressive, because we have motivated and creative kids, but we don’t want to inadvertently raise expectations beyond what our students can really do.

Secondary

Knights’ Festival: Knights’ Festival is an annual three-day secondary school celebration. This year it will take place April 27-29. Major events include plenary speakers, workshops, competitions (baking, art, sword fighting, volleyball, basketball, archery, chess…), and a feast in which the students provide entertainment (poetry, hymns, skits, movies…). Mrs. Whitling will be providing more details over the next few weeks.

Boarding Opportunity: The following student has been accepted to Logos and is looking for a boarding situation for 2016-17. A typical range for boarding a high school student is $7,000-$10,000 for 9 months. If you would like more information please contact me.
