General
2012-13 Information: Please check the school website for the updated school supply list, uniform guidelines, secondary fall schedule, etc…
Elementary and Secondary Class Registration: Registration for all Logos students will take place on August 20-21 between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
Uniforms: Since Hall Closet is not in town any longer, school uniforms may be purchased at the provider of your choice. Our goal is to maintain a sharp uniform look while still allowing parents the freedom to shop around for deals. Please pay special attention to the guidelines provided on the school website and work with us as you talk with your child about uniforms. Families of secondary students, please note that brown or black tennis shoes (ie: Sambas, etc.) do not count as dress shoes.
Elementary
Two Lunches: Due to increased enrollment the elementary students will be eating lunch in two stages this year. Our goal is to provide more space and supervision in the lunch room and out on the playground. Parents are welcome to come eat with their children at the “Parent Lunch Tables” at any time.
Lower Elementary (1st-3rd) 11:35-12:10
Upper Elementary (4th-6th) 11:50-12:30
Latin Positions: We are currently accepting applications for a Latin teacher to teach our new 3rd and 4th grade classes. These classes meet for 30 and 40 minutes in the morning respectively, five days a week. Please see me for details.
Elementary PE: Our elementary PE program is staffed by volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering to help out by teaching your child’s PE class, please contact me this summer. Each PE class meets twice a week for 30 minutes. We still have openings for the following classes: 1a, 3a, 3b, 5th, and 6th.
Secondary
Latin Tutor Position: We are currently accepting applications for a Latin Tutor Elective position. This teacher would be responsible to teach and tutor a small group of secondary students on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:25-9:15.
Senior Course Options: Proposals are due on August 13 to Mr. Whitling via email, or earlier if possible. See the school webpage for details.
11th Grade Choices:
Functions & Statistics or Pre-Calculus
During registration, juniors will need to select one of two math classes, Functions & Statistics or Pre-Calculus. We recommend that students who averaged 85% or lower on their Algebra II exams take Functions & Statistics. The Algebra II exam grade was supplied on last year’s report card. If you don’t have this information handy, feel free to contact Mr. Euhus.
Greek or Music
11th graders are allowed to choose between Greek and music for their M/W/F first period class. Those who have completed Latin in their 9th and 10th grade years have all of their required foreign language credits for graduation. Please note that beginning this year, graduates will need Greek in order to receive an honors diploma.
