Logos School Update – 2011/12 – Week #33

General

Summer Camps: Logos is offering a wide array of summer camps this year and we are looking forward to a great summer! See the school website for more information.

Openings: We are currently accepting applications for the following teaching positions. If you are interested, please submit a resume to me within the next few weeks.

3rd Grade: We are continuing to receive student applications for next year’s 3rd grade, and it is becoming very likely that we will need to open another class.

Latin Tutor Elective: This class meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:25-9:15. The teacher would be responsible to provide tutoring for secondary students who are new to Latin or who need extra help.

Rhetoric I: This class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 50 minutes each. The main focus of the class is to provide teaching and practice for our 9th graders as they learn to write and speak well.

Elementary

Grandparents’ Day: We have a super day planned for grandparents, parents, family friends, and prospective families on May 11th.  The morning will open with a light breakfast for grandparents in the auditorium, followed by class plays and presentations throughout the morning and early afternoon.  See the attached schedule of events. Please remember that there will not be a spring concert during the evening on May 11th. The secondary students performed in the benefit concert earlier this year, and the elementary students will be doing short music class presentations late in the afternoon on the 11th in the gym.

Morning Kindergartens: We are currently looking into the possibility of offering two morning kindergarten classes next year. This would mean moving Mrs. Merkle’s afternoon class to a different room that would meet from 8:30-11:30 AM. More details to come.

Secondary

Mock Trial: The Mock Trial A-Team is traveling to New Mexico this week to represent Idaho in the national championships. Please pray for safe travel and success.
