LOGOS SCHOOL UPDATE – 2023/24 – Update #4 (Sept 13, 2023)

————-  GENERAL  ————-

Campaign Manager Position: Logos School is searching for a full-time campaign manager to manage the details of a multi-year capital campaign for a new campus on the land that Logos already owns. If you are a highly organized and motivated individual who would represent our school well, please see this listing for more information.

Family Friday: Our first half-day will be this Friday, September 15.  More info: LINK

  • Logos East dismissal at 11:40 (kindergarten and morning preschool).  Friday afternoon, the preschool section will not meet.
  • Logos South (1st & 2nd grades) dismissal: 1st at 11:50, 2nd at 12:00
  • Logos West Elementary (3rd-6th grades) dismissed at 12:15
  • Secondary dismissal at 12:30, after the assembly (all parents are welcome and encouraged to attend the assembly; see details below)

Picture Retake Day (ALL CAMPUSES)!:  The picture retake day for all Logos campuses is scheduled for Friday, October 6th, from 7:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m. in the Logos West gym.

Lost and Found at Logos West:  A great many items are added each week to our lost and found (located in the breezeway of the NW doors).  Please ensure your students regularly check the lost and found, as items left there for a week are moved to our “for sale” section.  Please note the prices (there have been changes) and payment options (Cash App accepted; a cash box is coming soon!) on the posted signs.  All proceeds go to the senior class, who maintain the lost and found. No payments will be accepted in the front office.

Homecoming!  Please join us for Saturday night’s Homecoming game! Our Knights football team is undefeated; help cheer them on to a 4th win! Dinner sales benefit the football team: brats with kraut and chips ($7), bacon topped mac & cheese ($3), and apple cake with browned butter frosting ($3); and the freshman class will be selling hot drinks. Alumni: stop by the Logos Knights tent for a free alum t-shirt and dinner ticket! The gate opens at 6:00, dinner at 6:30, and kickoff at 7:00.

Fight’n Knight Day will be Friday, Sep. 15, supporting our varsity football team.  Wear your Fight’n Knight shirt to school.

  • Do you need a different-sized Fight’n Knight shirt? If you are having an issue with the sizing/fit of your shirt, we may have alternate sizes available in the next order.
  • We will be placing an order for additional Fight’n Knight Shirts next Wednesday, September 20th.  Alternate size options are available.  Use the following link to place your order.  Fight’n Knight Shirt order

Drama Production: Plan ahead to attend the varsity drama production of Beauty and the Beast next month.  October 4-7 at 6:30 pm.

————-  ELEMENTARY  ————-

6th Grade Play: This coming Friday morning, Miss Anderson’s 6th graders will perform their Shakespeare play Romeo and Juliet. The assembly will begin in the gym at 8:35.  We will start with a short recitation by Mrs. Blum’s 3rd graders.  All are welcome!

Elementary Study Tip for the Week: Plan ahead.  Sit down with your child on Saturday and read over the HAS together.  Talk about the tests and assignments with your child so that he is prepared before the week begins.  A few minutes of discussion and study on Saturday morning can help take the pressure off in the middle of the week when the circus is in full swing. One elementary example is having your child learn the first 7 Latin and spelling words on Saturday. This puts them in the position of starting the following week ahead of the game.

————-  SECONDARY ————-

Secondary Assembly: Friday, September 15, from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m., there will be a secondary worldview assembly titled “What is the Gospel?” by Jared Longshore. Parents are encouraged to come and then take their children out to lunch afterward! (Fathers….take a long lunch and join us!)  This will be our first Family Friday (half day of school).

Family Friday Secondary Schedule:

1st period        8:25-8:55

2nd period      9:00-9:30

3rd period       9:35-10:05

4th period       10:10-10:40

Secondary Study Tip of the Week:  For 7th and 8th grade parents especially, ask your student to show you their daily planner.  Are notes written in the daily planner that correspond with the homework assignments, quizzes, and tests? If the planner is blank, this may be a reason to initiate a conversation with your child.
