LOGOS SCHOOL UPDATE – 2023/24 – Update #31 (Apr 17, 2024)

————-  GENERAL  ————-

Family Friday: Next Friday, April 26th will be a Family Friday, with the afternoon reserved for staff development.  This is a half-day of school.  Full schedule and details: LINK.

Grandparents’ Day: On Friday, May 3rd, we have a great day planned for grandparents, parents, family, friends, and prospective families. No classes for the secondary.  See the full Grandparents’ Day Schedule

Secondary Spring Choir Concert: This year’s secondary spring choir concert will be held from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on May 3rd at the Church of the Nazarene (1400 East 7th St.).

Transition/New Responsibilities: We are sad to report that Mr. Euhus will be reducing his hours next year to focus on pastoring at Bridge Bible Fellowship here in Moscow. Mrs. Paula Casebolt has been hired as our registrar and Mrs. Lisa Bowen has been hired to serve as our front office assistant. These ladies will be helping to cover Mr. Euhus’ administrative duties. We are grateful that Mr. Euhus will stay on part-time to help navigate this transition. When you see him, please thank him for his excellent leadership at Logos School!

Open Positions (2024/25 School Year): Please contact the appropriate administrator for more information on the following openings.

  • Preschool (½ time): Contact Principal Brockwalder.

  • Secondary: Algebra I (8th grade); Algebra II (10th grade); Functions & Statistics (11th grade), Physics (12th grade); Philosophy (11th grade, T/Th); Economics (12th grade, T/Th); Old Testament Survey (7th, MWF); New Testament Survey (8th, MWF); Introductory Latin (7-8th grade); Advanced Latin (11-12th grade, MWF); Spanish III (11-12th grade, MWF). Contact Principal Wiggins.

————-  ELEMENTARY ————

1st Grade Play at Logos South:  This Friday, Mrs. Rauch’s class will be performing The Boy Who Cried Wolf. The play will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Logos South. We will reserve the small parking area in front of the school (the normal teacher lot) for anyone especially blessed by this convenient spot.

————-  SECONDARY ————

Student Surveys: Second-semester student surveys will be distributed to students on Monday, April 22.   The survey is intended to gather assessment data from students on the performance of their teachers.  Constructive criticism and encouragement from students is very helpful in driving the continuous improvement of our staff and we deeply appreciate the coaching parents provide to students in making this a fruitful assessment.

Student Government Elections:  A reminder to parents that all students running for office (even if unopposed) must create a short (less than 2 minute) video campaign speech, upload it to a private YouTube channel, and email a link to Mr. Wiggins and Mrs. Casebolt by Wednesday, April 24.  Campaign video and poster guidelines will be distributed by Mrs. Casebolt on Thursday, April 18.  Current 8th-grade students will receive guidelines next week and will have an extension for submission due to the NW History Trip.

Worldview Assembly:  Our final worldview assembly of the year will take place on Friday, April 26, from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm in the Logos Gym.  Pastor Joshua Appel will speak on the topic of “Honoring Parents.”  Students will be released immediately after the assembly for Family Day.  Please join us for a great presentation and Q&A.

————- ACTIVITIES  ————

Logos Summer Camp: Registration opens on April 26th. Camp options include Latin Camp with Miss Kayte Casebolt, Creative Writing with Miss Hale, Girls’ Basketball Shooting Camp with Mr. Gabe Rench, and Youth Lacrosse League with Mr. Ian McManus.  Be sure to check out these options and many more here.
