LOGOS SCHOOL UPDATE – 2019 – Summer #4

General

2019-20 Information: Please check the school website for updated school supply lists, uniform guidelines, etc.

Elementary Rosters: We have completed the process of assigning students to double classes for the 2019-20 school year. The board has established a procedure by which we gather primary and secondary preferences from parents, set healthy guidelines for the number and composition of students per class, and then utilize a spreadsheet to grant as much parental preference as possible for each grade. Our registrar, Loren Euhus, has invested his time and expertise in gathering preferences and creating the spreadsheet that generates the final results. I’ve attached the rosters.  The board has designated that these rosters remain fixed, other than amending clerical errors and/or a board designated adjustment. We are looking forward to serving your families again in the fall.

Secondary

Electives: We are looking to secure a few more volunteers to teach elective classes (Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:25-9:15). If you have an area of expertise that you would like to share with our secondary students please contact me. A few ideas to consider: Practical Christianity, Anatomy and Physiology, Botany, Poetry, Literature, French, Sculpting, Water Color, etc.

Sports Physicals: If you have a 9th or 11th Grade student who is planning to participate in sports this coming year, he/she will need to have a physical before the season begins (especially time sensitive for volleyball and cross country). See the school webpage for the correct form to bring to your doctor.

Senior Course Options: 12th Graders who will be participating in senior course options (college/online courses and internships) should be thinking about their proposals for next year. These are due on August 12 to Mr. Whitling via email, or earlier if possible. See the school webpage for details.

Cheers!
