LOGOS SCHOOL UPDATE – Week 35

Elementary

6th Grade Play: This Friday the 6th graders will be performing their final classroom play, The Prince and the Pauper.  The assembly will take place in the gym and will open with a 2nd grade recitation.  All are welcome to attend!

Elementary Teacher Workday: Monday, May 18 is a teacher workday.  There will be no school for the elementary students that day.

Upcoming Events:

6th Grade Bike Trip                              May 15 all day

Kindergarten Graduation                       May 20 @ 8:35 AM

Elementary Awards Assembly   May 20 @ 9:30 AM

Field Day                                             May 20 from 1-3 PM

Secondary

Finals Schedule: Attached is the secondary finals schedule for the spring semester (There is one change to Thursday afternoon).

End of the Year Simplification: In order to simplify the last few days for the secondary students and to allow some breathing room for the families of our upcoming graduates we will make the following adjustments:

Finals                                                   May 18-21 (as scheduled)

Senior Assembly                                   May 21 (1-2 PM)

Clean lockers & rooms             May 21 (2-2:30 PM)

Awards Night                                       May 21 (7-8:30 PM)

No School                                            May 22

Graduation Practice                              May 22 (1-3 PM for seniors only)

High School Graduation                        May 23 (3 PM @ U of I Admin.)

General

Summer Camps & Summer School: Summer Camp and Summer School registration is due Friday, May 22.

2009-2010 School Calendar: The calendar for next year has been approved by the board and is attached.  Please note the following changes:

1. Thanksgiving vacation has been extended to a full week.

2. Two four-day weekends have been added in the second semester (Presidents’ Weekend and Easter Weekend).

Open Gym: Cancelled for this week.
