Feed the Need Summary
On Friday, October 21, our Logos gymnasium was transformed into a packaging center as students assembled 12,500 packages of soup (a record number!) for the needy in our area. These packages are already being delivered to food banks, medical clinics, and churches in Latah & Whitman counties. We want to extend a big thank you to all the students and volunteers who helped make our FEED the NEED event a huge success. A special “thank you” to Gritman Medical Center for helping to underwrite this worthwhile activity. In addition to helping the needy, this event was also a student fundraiser. Following are some statistics:
143 – The total number of students who participated in raising pledges.
93 – The number of students who raised $125+ in pledge dollars, qualifying for a Knights long sleeve performance T-shirt
$18,502 – Total pledge dollars raised by students
$2,750 – Corporate sponsor support
Winners of the class competition for most pledge dollars raised:
Blum, 1st grade, $1375
Akin, 3rd grade, $1457.50
Mrs. Courtney’s Homeroom, (7th grade) $1375
Mr. Wilson’s Homeroom (8th grade) $1403
Thank you for your enthusiastic support of this event! We look forward to partnering with Homestead Ministries again next year and increasing the number of meals packaged for our neighbors on the Palouse.
Cheers,
Matt Whitling
