LOGOS SCHOOL UPDATE – 2010/11 – Week #26

General

Fight’n Knight Shirts: Students in the elementary and secondary are allowed to wear their Fight’n Knight shirts and nice jeans to school this Thursday in celebration of secondary Knight Day.

Teacher Work Day: This Friday, March 11, will be a teacher work day.  Teachers will be working on grades and comments for the 3rd quarter report cards.  There will be no school this day.

Elementary

2011-12 Enrollment: Due to the number of applications that we have for next year, we are currently making plans to open an afternoon Kindergarten class. We are also facing a similar situation in 1st and 2nd grades, and there is a possibility that we may open a 1st and 2nd combination class. Stay tuned for more details.

Parent/Teacher Conferences, March 24 & 25: We are looking forward to meeting with you after spring break.

Secondary

Knight Day: This Thursday, March 10th, is Knight Day in the secondary.  This is a seminar-type day in which students attend plenary talks and select from a wide array of academic and recreational workshops.  This year’s theme is Vocation. See this link for a detailed agenda of the day. Lunch is provided!

Benefit Concert: The Logos 30th Birthday Benefit Concert is set to begin at 7:00 pm on Friday night, March 11. The show will have professional lighting, sound and recording, as well as be web-cast live!

Secondary Student Surveys: This week we will be asking the secondary students to complete a brief survey for each class that they are enrolled in. This survey is designed to communicate the students’ perceptions of the secondary program, to the secondary faculty and administration. This would be a great time to sit down with your child and discuss each class with him/her. Secondary parents are also welcome to provide input at this time. Simply print out the Secondary Student Survey and turn it in to Mr. Whitling’s box in the front office this Friday.
