Knights’ Festival

Knights’ Festival is a four day secondary school celebration held annually. This year it will be April 23rd- 26th. Major events include workshops, competitions, a community
service project, and a feast with student entertainment.

The students have begun working on entertainment for the feast. Next week they will sign up for baking, art, sword fighting, volleyball, basketball, and archery competitions.

Appropriate dress for the first day of the festival is comfortable clothes that are neat, clean, and modest. Wednesday, the students are encouraged to wear blue, white, and gold. On Thursday, the students should wear their fighting knight shirt and jeans unless they are assigned to a community service project that requires other clothing. On Friday, the students should come to school in semi-formal attire, at tie for the gentlemen and skirt or dress for the ladies, unless they choose to take part in the costume competition. The costumes should be medieval themed – lords, ladies, knights, monks, or nice peasants. Ladies: modest necklines and no strapless or spaghetti straps, please.

Different activities for Knights’ Festival are posted on the school website. If your son is interested in participating in the sword fighting competition, you may want to pay special attention to the construction criteria. Please read the baking competition instructions carefully to insure that your student’s dessert is entered properly.
