LOGOS SCHOOL UPDATE – Summer #3

LOGOS SCHOOL UPDATE – Summer #3

Elementary PE: Our elementary PE program is staffed by volunteers.  If you are interested in volunteering to help out by teaching your child’s PE class, please contact me ASAP.  Each PE class meets twice a week for 30 minutes.

Elementary and Secondary Class Registration: Registration for all Logos students will take place on August 17-18 between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM.  Please make time on one of these days for at least one parent to come by the front office for 15 minutes and register (students are not required to attend).  This cannot be done over the phone or via email as there are certain forms (immunizations, emergency forms, etc.) that need to be signed and updated before the first day of school.  The student/parent handbooks, locker lists, and more will be available to pick up at this time.  The top three elective choices for your secondary student need to be provided on one of these days.  All senior course choices must be provided at this time as well.  If you are planning to be out of town during registration, please come ASAP later that week to register (no early registrations, please.).

11th and 12th Grade Announcements:

Physics Trip: The annual Physics Trip has been moved to September 3-5 due to scheduling conflicts in October.  Please note, this is the second week of school!

Senior Course Options: Those who will be participating in senior course options (independent studies, internships, or college courses) should be starting to construct their proposals. These are due on August 10 or earlier if possible. See the following link for details.https://logosprincipalspage.com/category/secondary/senior-course-offerings/

Greek: Please note that our Greek class is optional for juniors and seniors who wish to study another classical language after Latin.  You may sign up for this class during registration.

High School Music: Our high school music class, taught by Dr. David Erb, is required for 9th and 10th graders, but any seniors not in apologetics have the option of taking this class.

Functions & Statistics VS. Pre-Calculus (alias Trig.)

Juniors will need to register for one of two math classes, Functions & Statistics or Pre-Calculus.  We recommend that students who averaged 85% or lower on their Algebra II exams take Functions & Statistics.  The Algebra II exam grade was supplied on last year’s report card.  If you don’t have this information handy, feel free to contact me.
