LOGOS SCHOOL UPDATE – 2022/23 #6  (Sept 28, 2022)

————-  GENERAL  ————-

Picture Make-up/Retake Day:  If your student (from any campus) missed individual picture day or if you would like them to have their picture retaken, our make-up picture day will be Thursday, October 6th from 7:45 AM – 9:00 AM in the Logos West gym.

Logos West Fire Drill:  Logos West will conduct a fire drill tomorrow at 9:30 am.  We expect the drill will take 10-15 minutes to complete.

Worldview Assembly: Our next worldview assembly will be on Tuesday, October 11 from 12:40 – 1:30 pm.  Pastor Kirk Brower will be talking with our secondary students about evolution.  Dads, we would love you to join us again for lunch and fellowship prior to the assembly (12:00-12:35 PM).  We will have Wooster’s Pizza ($2 a slice) and drinks (complimentary).  Please come!

Teacher Work Day:  On Friday, October 14 there will be a teacher workday with no classes.  The last day of the quarter is Thursday, October 13th.

————-  ELEMENTARY  ————-

Elementary Friendship: Over the past few weeks Mr. Brockwalder and Mr. Becker have been visiting the elementary classes to discuss friendship. The conversation usually starts out with Proverbs 16:28, “A perverse man stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends.” One of our goals is that your children will become close friends as they work and play together at Logos. Solomon tells us that gossip breaks friends apart. We discuss this with the students and then go on to identify other threats to friendship as well. We talk about the fact that at Logos, if you want a BFF, it’s Jesus and your family, everyone else is a good friend. We don’t want these friendships to be severed through ungodly exclusions (ignoring the 3rd wheel) or friend hogs (who dominate one person and push everyone else away). As always, please feel free to follow up on these conversations at home and let us know if you have ideas for what could be covered in the future.

————-  SECONDARY ————-

PSAT:  The 10th and 11th Grades will be taking the PSAT on Wednesday, October 12 from 8:25 am-12:05 pm
