Valentine’s Day: You may wonder how we approach this “holiday” at Logos. Lower elementary classes will often integrate their phonics and math activities with special days like this, and we think this can be appropriate if done well. We do not spend class time recognizing the day in 3rd grade and above. Some secondary students/parents will organize an activity in which all the guys buy pizza for the class, or all the girls put candy in the guys’ lockers, etc. Even though these are not school events we appreciate when students run their ideas by Mr. Wiggins, and we think they can be healthy if done well (whole class, not singling out individuals, nothing outside the lockers, etc.).
————- ELEMENTARY ————-
Teaching at Logos: If you have ever been interested in teaching at Logos, we have openings in the elementary grades at all 3 campuses, both full-time and half-time. If you are even a bit interested please contact Jim Becker.
————- SECONDARY ————
Worldview Assembly: On Tuesday, February 14th (12:40-1:30), Pastor Doug Wilson will address the student body on “Honoring Parents.” Parents are invited to attend. Mr. Wiggins will host a pizza lunch from 12:00-12:30. If you would like to attend the lunch, RSVP to Mrs. Farley.
Speech Meet Assembly: Our 10th-12th grade speech meet assembly will be on Thursday, February 23rd (12:40-1:30), in the Logos Fieldhouse. Parents are invited to attend.
————- ACTIVITIES ————
Varsity Boys’ Basketball will conclude the regular season at Prairie HS on Friday night. They will begin district play next Wednesday night, February 15th. The district bracket can be found here.
HS Track and Lacrosse begin practice on February 24th. Students need to have paperwork (Physical or IQ form) submitted before they can practice. Any athlete who has played a sport this school year already has paperwork on file. More information about forms can be found on the Forms and Fees page. JH Track and Lacrosse will begin after spring break.
