————- GENERAL ————- Study Tip for the Week: Busy dads need to have a system for staying in touch with how their kids are doing in school. Don’t wait for the midterm progress report to come home and get your attention. Require your child to drop off all graded and returned schoolwork at your spot at the dinner table right when he gets home (or some other convenient spot). Before dinner, you can look through the pile to check progress. This will also give you the information required to ask intelligent questions during dinner about the topics that are being covered in school. ————- ELEMENTARY ————- Assembly Accompaniment Tryouts: 4th – 6th-grade students are welcome to try out to accompany singing at elementary assemblies. Tryouts will take place Thursday, September 8 @ 12:00 in the lunchroom. Student accompanists receive one free hot lunch for every assembly they accompany. Guidelines For Keeping Sick Children Home (from Parent Student handbook)
Uniforms this week For PK- 2nd graders: Friday will be a normal uniform day (due to picture day). Dress uniforms will only be required once a week (normally Friday) for laundering purposes. ————- SECONDARY ————- Parking Lot Safety: For parents of student drivers, please take the time to discuss parking rules with your children. We ask that all drivers be especially cautious when driving in the upper parking lots next to the gym because of pedestrian traffic, especially elementary students who are more difficult to see and can be unpredictable. Students who operate their vehicles in an unsafe manner or who park in places not specifically designed for students risk having their on-campus parking privileges suspended. Staying Hydrated During School: We encourage students to bring as much water as they need to stay hydrated during the school day. They may keep water in their lockers and drink liberally during the passing periods and lunch (6 total opportunities). School policy does not allow for water bottles in class because they tend to lead to disruptions in the class. If a student is recovering from sickness or has an injury that requires more frequent hydration, please contact Mr. Wiggins. Secondary Assembly on September 13th: Logos Dads, our first worldview assembly will be held on Tuesday, September 13th from 12:40 – 1:30 pm in the Logos Gym.
