LOGOS SCHOOL UPDATE – 2022/23 #16  (Jan 4, 2023)

————-  GENERAL  ————-

False Email Warning. Today one of our teachers and parents received an email asking for personal information from the address kunole09@gmail.com that was imitating Mr. Wiggins as Principal of Logos School.  Mr. Wiggins will only communicate using the official school address @logosschool.com. Any request for personal information must be regarded as suspect unless verified by phone or previously coordinated.  Please let the front office know if you have received a similar email.

Q2 Report Cards come out this week; Wednesday for Elementary and Thursday for Secondary.

————-  ELEMENTARY  ————-

New Student!  We are excited to welcome a new 3rd-grade elementary student to Logos this week.

Spelling Bee: The 1st – 6th graders will be competing in their classroom spelling bees on January 31. The Final Showdown for Logos West will take place on February 2.  The top two in each classroom will compete at 1:00 in the gym.  The 1st & 2nd-grade students at Logos South will compete in their classrooms on January 31.  Lists and rules are posted on the school website under Academics/Elementary Program/Spelling Bee.

————-  SECONDARY ————-

Secondary Assembly.  Our next secondary assembly will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 12:40-1:30 in the Logos Gym.  Pastor Kirk Brower will be addressing the student body on the topic of “Confession of Sin.”  All parents are encouraged to attend.  Dads are invited to join Mr. Wiggins for pizza at 12:00 in the gym.  Please RSVP to Jen Farley jfarley@logosschool.com  if you would like to attend lunch.

Honors Invitations This Week.   Select teachers will be offering honors classes for students who meet the academic requirements.  Honors coursework is challenging enough so that a student would normally be approved for only one or two honors classes per semester. The amount of work done in the regular course will not be reduced. The student’s grade will be based on the regular material covered in class. The supplementary work done for honors will be graded separately. On the high school transcript, the prefix “Honors” will be placed before the class name to indicate the fulfillment of honors work. Students who are interested must fill out an application with a parent signature.  The cost of electives is $25 payable directly to the teacher.
