Logos School Student Fundraiser
On Thursday, October 12, our Logos gymnasium will be turned into a packaging center as students (grades K-12) put together more than 10,000 meals to help fight hunger on the Palouse!
The school is partnering with Homestead Ministries – a local nonprofit organization – in this endeavor. This organization will provide the food stuffs, packaging equipment, and transportation of packaged goods to soup kitchens, crisis centers, and homeless shelters in Latah and Whitman Counties. We will provide the labor and cover the cost of raw goods to make the project a success. Local businesses within the community are partnering with us to assist with expenses.
This is a combined service project to feed the hungry on the Palouse AND a fundraiser for Logos School. Students are being asked to secure pledges for the number of meals they help package, label, box and ship. We estimate that each student will handle (package, label, seal, & box) 200+ meals and are asking all our students to secure $50 in pledges.
All Logos students will receive “Feed the Need” “beanies” which can be worn to school on October 12. Students raising $75 or more will receive a Logos Knights steel personally engraved water bottle as a “thank you” for going above and beyond in their pledge efforts. In addition, we are holding a class competition to see who can raise the most money in pledges. Classes in grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12 will be competing for a catered pizza lunch to celebrate their success. The deadline to hand in forms and pledges is Monday, October 16 at 4:00 p.m. We have extended the deadline for online pledges to Monday, October 16 at 4:00 p.m.
