LOGOS SCHOOL UPDATE – 2017 – #14

 

General

Christmas Program: Our Christmas Program rehearsal will take place next Thursday morning December 7. Please drop your child off at the Nazarene Church at 8:30 (all preschool-6th graders and 7th-11th grade students who are in choir). We will bus the students back to school afterward. Preschool Families: If your child does not have school that Thursday morning, please remain at the Nazarene Church until the rehearsal is over so that you can bring your child home-thank you!

Attire for performers…

 

Elementary: Logos dress uniform (young ladies may wear a special Christmas dress if desired, and young men are welcome to wear blazers).

 

Secondary: Logos dress uniform only. Blazers for young men and women are welcome.

Winter Ball: The Winter Ball will take place Friday, December 1 (hosted by the 8th grade class). This is for Logos students only. Dress: GENTLEMEN – Dress shirts, ties and slacks. LADIES – Knee length dresses or skirts. Modest necklines only (no strapless tops, halter-tops, or spaghetti straps). SHOES – Clean shoes on the floor only; no dress shoes or high heels. 6-7:30pm for Elementary, 7:30-8pm practice dance, 8-10pm Secondary. Price is $5 per person and $20 family.

Fight’n Knight Day: This Tuesday is a Fight’n Knight Day! Come out and cheer for the high school girls teams as they take on Kendrick tomorrow night.

Elementary

Homework-0-Meter Results: Homework surveys are in, and we’ve crunched the numbers below (averaged between the double classes). Parents, thank you for taking the time to complete the surveys!

 

Grade / Actual Numbers / Guideline Targets (per night/5 days a week):

1st            =          12 min.            (15 min.)

2nd       =          20 min.            (30 min.)

3rd        =          25 min.            (45 min.)

4th        =          27 min.            (45 min.)

5th        =          29 min.            (45 min.)

6th        =          49 min.            (60 min.)

 

5th Grade Play: This Friday Mr. Kohl’s class will be on stage. The show will open at 8:35 AM with a recitation by Mrs. Blum’s 1st graders. All are welcome.

 

Secondary Student Surveys

We have our secondary students evaluate each class they take twice a year. Here are a few things that students had to say about Mrs. Miller this semester:

 

-She is cheerful and fun.

-I really, really enjoy her teaching. I love coming into this class. Amazing teacher!

-She is really fun and has lots of spirit.

-She does well at disciplining us.

-I think Mrs. Miller is a great teacher. She has a very wide vocabulary and she has fun exercises like Chocolate Challenge. She is a great baker. Thank you!

-Class time is used very productively, and she consistently models a Christian life through everything we do.
