LOGOS SCHOOL UPDATE – 2016 – #15

General

Fight’n Knight Day! This Thursday is a Fight’n Knight Day. Students are allowed to wear their Logos t-shirts and nice jeans to school. After school, come out to the gym to cheer on our high school girls basketball team against Kendrick at 6:00.

Christmas Program Party! This Thursday evening after the girls’ game we will be setting up chairs for the Christmas Program. If you would like to help us with set up, please be at the gym at 7:00 PM or simply come for the game and help set up chairs afterward. Thank you!

Christmas Program: The Logos Christmas Program will take place in the gym this Friday, December 9 at 7:00 PM. All are invited to attend! The rehearsal will take place the same day at the following times: Secondary 8:25-9:15, Elementary (preschool-6th) 9:30-10:30. Elementary students will meet in the classrooms at 6:45 PM and secondary students in the auditorium at 6:30. Please bring preschoolers right to the gym at 6:45 PM. After they sing, the preschool-1st grade students will go to the back of the auditorium to meet and sit with their parents for the rest of the evening. Attire for performers…

Elementary: Logos dress uniform (young ladies may wear a special Christmas dress if desired, and young men are welcome to wear blazers).

Secondary: Logos dress uniform only. Blazers for young men and women are welcome.

Uniforms: This Friday is not a dress uniform day. Students will wear their normal Monday-Thursday uniforms to school on Friday so that their dress uniform is crisp and clean for the Christmas Program that evening.

Final Exams: The secondary students will be taking finals next week. Please see the attached schedule for details.

Trivia Day: Next Friday after finals we will play our traditional game of “Logos Trivial Pursuit” and have a pizza party.  Guys: please bring six “individual” drinks – cans of pop, bottles of water, or Gatorade (No two-liter bottles please).  Ladies: please bring something for dessert.

Secondary Student Surveys

We have our secondary students evaluate each class they take twice a year. Here are a few things that students had to say about Mrs. Courtney this semester:

-She’s really funny and understanding.

-She really loves working with all her students.

-Really fun teacher-always look forward to her classes.

-She really knows what she is talking about and she obviously loves teaching.

-I love this class and I am very thankful for Mrs. Courtney.

-Mrs. Courtney is always cheerful and happy every class period. She makes history and geography really fun.

-Mrs. Courtney impresses me with how organized class is.

-She really loves the books that we read and makes reading them more fun.

-She is a very maternal teacher, teaches you as if you were her own. Strict when she has to be, she is the best teacher ever!

-She doesn’t let kids talk during class and makes sure everything makes sense.

-One of my favorite teachers. I look forward to her classes every day.

-She is cheerful and knows the material well.

-She is always looking out for us, wearing the “Mom Hat”. It shows that she really cares.

-She actually seems to like her students, even Junior High kids.

-Mrs. Courtney is my favorite teacher and I am blessed to have her.

Cheers,

Matt Whitling
