LOGOS SCHOOL UPDATE – 2013/14 – #33

General

Summer Camps: The 2014 Summer Camp brochures can be found on the school website under Life at Logos.

Ball: This Friday evening the seniors will be hosting the last ball of the year. Elementary students are welcome from 6-8 PM and secondary from 8-10 PM. Ball attire:

Gentlemen: dress shirt, slacks, tie, and clean athletic shoes.

Ladies: knee length dress or skirt with modest neckline and clean athletic shoes. No strapless tops, halter tops, or spaghetti straps.

Elementary

SATs: The 1st-6th graders will be taking the Stanford Achievement Tests this week. Please avoid scheduling appointments if at all possible.

Additional Preschool Opening: Both preschool classes are full for next year and we are continuing to receive applications from interested families. At this point it looks likely that we will be opening up an afternoon M/W/F preschool class. If you are interested in applying for this teaching position, please send me a resume.

Elementary Classrooms: As we work on maintaining continuity between our double classes, it has become clear that the closer the rooms are to each other, the easier it is for teachers and students to work together. Toward this end, next year, both 4th grade classes will be next to each other in the portables, and both 3rd grade classes will be side by side in the main building. We are excited to be able to make this structural change to enhance the quality of our double classes.

Elementary Class Selection: Please stay tuned for details on how to provide input regarding which class your child will be in next year. Mr. Garfield will be sending out details soon.

Secondary

Finals Schedule: Please see the school website for the secondary finals schedule.

Valedictorian and Salutatorian: We are pleased to announce that Stuart Evans and Trevor Morse have been selected to represent our senior class at commencement as valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively. Congratulations, gentlemen!

Cheers,

Matt Whitling
