LOGOS SCHOOL UPDATE – 2012/13 – #2

LOGOS SCHOOL UPDATE – 2012/13 – #2

General

Enrollment for 2013-14: We are currently accepting applications for new students to Logos for the 2013-2014 school year (current students will re-register in the spring).  If you would like to add your child to the new student enrollment pool, applications can be found at https://logosschool.com/admissions/application/. A number of applications have been submitted for next year’s classes already.

Speech Meet: Speech Meet information packets will be coming home with your students (grades 1-9) this week. Selections are due September 17.

Friday Attire: This Friday we will begin our normal pattern of wearing our dress uniforms.  Sometimes it is tempting to want to slide into the weekend both mentally and physically.  By dressing up we want to remind ourselves and each other to finish strong. We will also take class pictures this Friday.

.

Elementary

Elementary Back to School Night: Please save Friday, September 7 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM on your calendar.  Back to School Night is a time to meet your child’s teacher and find out more about the school and class.

Assembly Accompaniment Tryouts:  4th – 6th grade students are welcome to tryout to accompany singing at elementary assemblies.  Tryouts will take place Wednesday, September 19th @ 12:00 in the lunch room.  Student accompanists receive one free hot lunch for every assembly they accompany. See Mr. Whitling for a copy of the two songs.

Secondary

Secondary Back to School Night: On Wednesday, September 12 from 7:00-9:00 PM we will re-enact, in miniature, a secondary school day (We had originally scheduled this event for the 14th, but due to scheduling conflicts, it has been moved to the 12th. ).  This is an opportunity for parents to come and sit under the instruction of their child’s teachers as we move through all seven periods contained in a normal school day.  Come and learn apologetics from Mr. Euhus, Classical Literature from Mrs. Merkle and PE from Mrs. Spencer and Mr. Whitling as we help provide a fuller picture of what your secondary student receives each day.

Cheers,
