LOGOS SCHOOL UPDATE – 2012/13 – #1

General

Individual Pictures (August 30): Students are welcome to wear their school uniform for individual pictures or they may dress up and wear special church clothes. This is not a day to dress down (sports jerseys, t-shirts, jeans, etc).

Elementary

Elementary Back to School Night: Please save Friday, September 7 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM on your calendar.  Back to School Night is a time to meet your child’s teacher and find out more about the school and class.

Secondary

Field Day this Friday: This is our beginning of the year ice-breaker for the 7th – 12th graders.  Students can meet at Robinson Lake Park at 9:00 AM or they can come to school at 8:30 AM and catch a ride on the bus. The bus will leave right at 8:30.  There will be games and activities throughout the day.  Lunch is provided. You do not need to be in dress code this day, but your attire should be conservative and modest. The park is 3 miles east of Moscow on Robinson Park Road.

Honors Classes: This year we will again be offering students in a select number of our upper level classes the option of completing advanced studies in order to receive the designation of “Honors” on their transcript.  See attachment for details.

Secondary Back to School Night: On Wednesday, September 12 from 7:00-9:00 PM we will re-enact, in miniature, a secondary school day (We had originally scheduled this event for the 14th, but due to scheduling conflicts, it has been moved to the 12th. ).  This is an opportunity for parents to come and sit under the instruction of their child’s teachers as we move through all seven periods contained in a normal school day.  Come and learn apologetics from Mr. Euhus, Classical Literature from Mrs. Merkle and PE from Mrs. Spencer and Mr. Whitling as we help provide a fuller picture of what your secondary student receives each day.
